One of the things I hoped would come my way when I decided to freelance were some nonprofit opportunities. Luckily I was able to work on a wonderful 205 page program that AFOI has developed to serve families of the incarcerated with evidence-based programs providing meaningful visitation, family support and children’s services. And one of the best aspects of working on the MAC program was digging up my illustration talents and combining storytelling and design to create a printed version of the program.

ROLE: Designer / Illustrator

Working with established characters, my task was to bring them to life by crafting their unique stories and personalities. To do this, I expanded on the illustrations by adding thoughtful details such as props, facial expressions, and dynamic environments that complemented their traits. I used these elements to enhance their narrative, allowing each character’s background, motivations, and emotions to shine through.
